Product Description

This Fast Drying Silver Suspension is a highly conductive, air-drying silver-based coating, specifically developed to deliver maximum coverage and low surface resistance. It provides an economical and efficient solution for shielding against radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI) while maintaining durability under challenging environmental conditions such as heat, cold, humidity, and salt spray.

Designed for ease of use, the coating requires no primer or topcoat, adheres well to most plastics used in electronics, and is flexible, adherent, and fast-drying. The silver content consists of ultra-fine flakes suspended in methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK), producing a smooth, uniform conductive layer with high EMI attenuation performance.

Application Guidelines

Surface Preparation

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of oil, grease, or dust for best adhesion and conductivity.

Mixing & Dilution

Stir thoroughly before use to fully homogenize the suspension.
For brush application, use the product as-is (undiluted).
For spray application, dilute in a 2:1 ratio by weight (product to diluent).
Use a blend of MEK and diacetone alcohol (2:1 by weight) for dilution.
If drying too slowly, reduce the amount of diacetone alcohol.

Application Method

For small areas: Brush application
For production-scale spraying: Use a paddle-agitated pressure tank system
Spray pressure: 2 to 2.5 bar
Spray gun nozzle: 1.0 to 1.5 mm diameter
For prototypes: Suction cup spray guns are suitable
Recommended Dry Film Thickness: 10–15 µm for optimal EMI shielding
Avoid “dry spraying” to ensure maximum conductivity and adhesion

Drying & Curing

Touch dry: Within 10 minutes (depending on ambient conditions)
Handleable: After approximately another 10 minutes
Air-dried performance: Achieved after 4–8 hours
Production curing: Bake at 70–80°C for 30 minutes to improve conductivity and speed up processing

Cleaning

Clean masks, tools, and spray equipment using:
Esters: Butyl acetate, ethyl acetate
Ketones: MIBK, MEK

Storage Instructions

Store in a dry, well-ventilated area
Temperature range: 5°C to 30°C (41°F to 86°F)
Ensure the product is sealed tightly when not in use
Allow to reach room temperature before opening and mix thoroughly before each use
